At
the Boston Wah-Lum Kung-Fu School, Dat is the elder
student (Si-Hing) of the eighth generation members,
serves as an assistant instructor, and senior member/coach
of the Kung Fu and Lion Dance demo team. Over the years
he has performed and competed at many events in the
New England area, Seattle, Florida, New York, and Baltimore
winning many awards and accolades.
Throughout
all the years of Si-Hing Dat’s training in the Wah-Lum
Pai, he has gained knowledge and understanding of this
unique form of martial art, which he believes is one
of the most effective for self-defense, as well as for
physical fitness and mental well-being. He is more than
happy to share his knowledge and experiences with all
the students in the school and those who are interested
in learning the Chinese Martial Arts.
Si-Hing
Dat’s aim in the Wah-Lum Pai is to become certified
as a “Sifu” (Instructor) and to preserve the heritage
of the Wah-Lum Pai, and to pass on the knowledge to
the next generation not only the realistic of self-defense
taught, but also the cultural, and philosophical aspects
of the Wah Lum System.
